Summary: Repetobasidium conicum is similar to Repetobasidium mirificum but with conic cystidia.
Microscopic: SPORES 5.5-7 x 4-5 microns, round to nearly round, smooth, inamyloid, acyanophilic, thin-walled; BASIDIA 4-spored, 8-12 x 5-7 microns, subglobose-pyriform, with basal clamp connection, subbasidial stem generally less than 25 microns; CYSTIDIA 30-40 x 5-7 microns, conic [widest at base], "not capitate or with a very slight apical enlargement, without coloured resinous encrustation but sometimes with a small oil-drop", with basal clamp connection; HYPHAE monomitic: basal hyphae 2-4 microns wide, closely attached to wood, with clamp connections, short perpendicular hymenial branches, (Eriksson)
Notes: Repetobasidium conicum has been found several times in BC, was also found once in Sweden, and was originally described from Germany, (Eriksson).
